Our in-house engineering platform combines classic directed evolution techniques with modern automation and screening technology for fast and efficient campaigns. Through protein engineering, enzyme activity has been expanded to include other substrate combinations, thus enabling a convergent, modular synthesis of amino acids through formation of a central C–C or C–X bond.

We employ directed evolution to create panels of enzymes that act on structurally and chemically diverse substrates. Enzyme characteristics like activity, stability, and process readiness can be readily tuned.
